GIFT SHOP SUPERVISOR

Summary of Position: Assist customers, sell merchandise, handle cash and credit card sales accurately.  Maintain Gift Shop area to ensure cleanliness and attraction and to assure safety and standards are maintained. Strive to achieve sales figures by selling effectively. Responsible for the overall effective and efficient supervision of all Gift Shop and Valet attendants as assigned by the reporting senior including, but not limited to: providing leadership to assigned staff, ensuring effective internal and external communications, exercising appropriate judgment and decision-making skills, and ensuring that all departmental and staff activities are monitored and performed as efficiently and effectively as possible. Ensures assigned staff operate in compliance with applicable internal policies and procedures, gaming regulations, and external agency requirements.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Use proper sales techniques to achieve sales goals and contribute to the profitability of shop.

Maintain all assigned inventory counts are accurate.

Continuous communication line with Supervisor and/or Manager in order to keep abreast of all shop related problems, customer requests and fast moving items to maximize sales and guest satisfaction.

Know features and benefits of merchandise in Gift Shop and be familiar with merchandise offerings in all shops.

Handle all cash transactions accurately and follow proper procedure for credit card transactions.

Assists the manager with the daily activities of the Gift Shop.

Plan and coordinate the work schedule with Gift Shop and Valet attendants.

Lead and direct the work of Gift Shop and Valet attendants.

Assist in the training of Guest Service Associates:

  • How to distribute any coupons/offers as dictated in monthly promotions;
  • How to make announcements concerning promotions and specials on the house loud speaker by utilizing scripts provided by marketing.
  • Handle any problems and guest complaints when necessary;

Ensure close communications with other casino departments;

Ensure services are always of the highest degree and meeting casino needs;

Provide orientation and training in regard to the Gift Shop and Valet departments;

Attend mandatory meetings and training as directed;

Be able to communicate to other team members and casino customers any and all promotions;

Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, practices, trends, products, regulatory requirements and issues, incorporating best practices into Blackbird Bend Casino’s guest service initiatives;

Ensure and enforce confidentiality procedures at all times;

Establish and maintain the Gift Shop and Valet recordkeeping system;

Attendance, punctuality and positive attitudes are a must at all times.

Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Gaming experience of 6 months or more is preferred.

High School Diploma or be actively pursuing a GED.

One year of department-specific experience is preferred.

Previous retail and cash handling experience preferred.

Strong communication skills both verbal and written are required.

Strong multitasking and organizational skills.

Self motivated and team player.

Must be flexible to work weekends, nights, and holidays as business demands.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST

The Revenue Auditor/Accounts Payable Specialist (RAAPS) is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of the financial operations/accounts payable. The RAAPS is also responsible for ensuring that all payable obligations are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with applicable policies, and regulations. The RAAPS is also responsible for maintaining an employee-focused culture that results in high performance, empowerment, setting and reaching goals, and overall quality in the BBC workforce. Additionally, the RAAPS will provide support to their peers offering guidance and modeling leadership. This is a full-time position and is considered nonexempt under FLSA. The Revenue Auditor/Accounts Payable Specialist reports to the highest ranking Corporate Officer or Finance Director.
