Position Summary:  Cage Manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of all of the cash handling activities in the Casino.  Monitor and manage the personnel in the cage department. Responsible for overseeing cash assets currency, chips, tokens, and coins in the Casino.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for overseeing and directing daily Cage Operations;

Ensure the integrity of all Cage transactions and is held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental paperwork;

Maintain all records, reports and other required paperwork;

Conduct the necessary research to effectively resolve Cage Disputes;

Responsible for ensuring that all Regulatory and Internal Control Policies and Standard Operating Procedures are in place and adhered to;

Ensure the proper accountability and security is maintained for all cash handling areas and maintains close contact with Revenue Auditor to ensure the company funds are properly accounted for and/or secured;

Keep open communication and encourage teamwork and cooperation within the Department and with other Departments;

Establish and implement a progressive disciplinary procedure which conforms to company policy in regards to variances;

Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, performance evaluations, disciplinary action and discharge of employees;

Determines the appropriate staffing levels in cooperation with the Casino Manager to properly operate the department and provide superior customer service;

Responsible for scheduling and established appropriate vacation or “time off” policies which may affect the overall performance of the department;

Order supplies, address safety issues, create and maintain all Cage forms;

Set the example for excellent customer service standards for all staff;

Other duties as assigned.




Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related area;

3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Minimum of 3 years supervisory/managerial experience required;

Possess knowledge of NIGC regulations and compliance with the system of Minimum Internal Control Standards;


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Possess superior math, financial and accounting skills;

Possess proficiency with computer usage and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel;

Possess organizational and planning skills;

Possess excellent customer service skills;

Possess strong sense of security and asset protection;

Be able to analyze the entire cash requirements of the casino operations;

Be able to counsel employees and experience in conflict resolution;

Be able to handle multitude of detailed tasks;

Be able to work in a smoke filled environment;

Be able to operate 10 key by touch;

Be able to work in a smoke filled environment;

Be able to stand for long periods of time;

Be able to lift 25 pounds;

Be able to work in a smoke filled environment;

Be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and special events as needed;

Be able to handle mental and physical stress.
